Congregation M'kor Shalom is committed to pursuing the following goals:
The Caring Community Committee provides services and programs to individuals and families who have special needs. The Caring Community works towards ensuring that all congregants have the opportunity to fully participate in the religious, educational and social aspects of the synagogue. It also is a source of support for congregants who are in need.

The committee combines the former Liheyot and M'kor Rachamim Committees.

• Braille Erev Shabbat prayerbook

• Sign language interpreter
• Telephone communication system for homebound individuals to hear services

Educational Programs

• A Special Needs Coordinator assists teachers, parents and students to meet the students' Jewish educational needs.
• The Religious School staff receives ongoing training and support.
• In the classroom, advocates assist the child with special learning needs.

Support Programs

• Friendly visitors for homebound congregants
• Monthly "M'kor Bus" to selected residential complexes
• Volunteers to prepare and deliver meals
• Annual Caring Community Shabbat Service
